Adobe Photoshop CS3: Introduction (Level 1)   

Our Adobe Photoshop CS3 Introduction course enables delegates with no previous experience of Photoshop to acquire a range of techniques that can be used both for print and the screen. On this two day course you will get hands-on practice working with basic through intermediate techniques to get the most out of your experience looking at topics such as images for both print and online production, retouching and compositing techniques. You will also have access to a further workshop for further tutorials and support.

Who Should Attend  

Anyone that is new to; and needs to work on anything from original artwork, to photographic image enhancement.

Prerequisites 

Because of the amount of material we cover in class, we do require students to be comfortable using a mouse, opening and saving files, and the general operations of computers. While we will make every reasonable effort to help, students with insufficient skills may be required to undertake an IT skills course so as to not slow down the rest of the class.

Performance-Based objectives  

Course outline:

Understanding Photoshop and its interface

An introduction to the differences between raster and vector artwork

Working with colour adjustment tools in Photoshop

File formats and compression

Understanding resolution and images

Working with Photoshop’s toolbar (Creating selections and working with colour)

Working with layers

Adding and manipulating text

Apply artistic and textural effects

Export images for print and the web

Course Times

Class time is 10:00 a.m.- 4:30/5:00 p.m.
Breaks are scheduled throughout the day and lunch is typically scheduled between 1-2 pm. We provide you with Tea, Coffee, Biscuits and other refreshments on the house. We also have a fridge and a microwave available for you to store/warm up any food you wish to bring along for your lunch.
