Change has become a way of life for organisations that need to remain effective and competitive in order to thrive. PRINCE2™ embodies many years of "Best Practice" in Project Management and this knowledge will ensure that you are provided with a flexible, adaptable, and successful approach to suit all types of projects.

A PRINCE2™ Foundation qualification is recognised world- wide as a measure of excellence in Project Management skills.

This course is designed to provide the skills and experience required to implement the PRINCE2™ Methodology. PRINCE2™ is a project management method designed to provide a framework covering the wide variety of disciplines and activities required within a successful project.

The Foundation course adds a significant amount of knowledge and understanding of how all the processes, components and techniques all work together to achieve the successful delivery of a PRINCE2™ project. Delegates will be given a sufficient level of knowledge to be able to pass the examination leading to the award of the PRINCE2™ Foundation Certificate. .

FOUNDATION EXAMINATION

Pre-Course Requirements

There are no pre-requisites in terms of project management experience. Prior to the course, each delegate will be sent the PRINCE2™ manual, suggested pre-course work and a reading list, in order that they become familiar with the PRINCE2™ concepts. It is essential to the successful delivery of this course that the pre-course work is completed. A large proportion of this pre-course work may be omitted where the delegate has attended a PRINCE2™ Overview course.

Who should attend?

Project Managers, Project Consultants, Project Planners, Project Estimators, Resource Managers, Team Managers, Supervisors, Project Support Staff, Project Assurance Staff or anyone requiring more than a basic knowledge of PRINCE2™

Examination

This is a 1-hour, closed book, multiple-choice examination, taken at the end of the third day. There are 75 questions, of which 38 must be answered correctly in order to achieve a pass. The examination provides a specific and measurable assessment of the skills gained.

Delegates should be aware that some evening study will be required on days one and two, in order to assist in the successful completion of the examination.

Follow-On Courses:
PRINCE2™ Practitioner
PRINCE2™ Conversion – 2 days or 3 days

For those wishing to consolidate the Foundation concepts, the choice is between sitting the 5-day Practitioner course, or one of the two variants of the Conversion course. Where delegates have had a significant amount of time since attending the Foundation course, or require a full refresher, or attended the older version of the Foundation (pre-October 2005), then the 5-day Practitioner may prove to be the wiser investment.

For those preparing for the Practitioner examination, where a quick reminder of the method and practise in the exam technique is all that is required, then the 2-day Conversion course is available. The 2-day Conversion course is also suitable for delegates re-sitting the examination or renewing their qualifications. Where clients feel that something in between these two extremes is more appropriate, the 3-day Conversion course is available for Closed Courses only. PRINCE2™ courses will be delivered in association with Datrix Training Ltd, an approved training organisation.
