Course Aims:
This course aims to develop the confidence of learners, enabling them to benefit from using IT for studying and or in the work place. Learners will consider and understand the general trends of IT.

This course will look at the following areas:
Basic keyboard and mouse skills	The windows environment
Using e-mail	Using the internet
Word processing

Suitable for:

Aimed at complete beginners, this course will help learners conquer thier fear of IT

Prerequisites:

1. No previous experience is assumed

2. A basic level of numeracy and literacy is required

Setting up a computer	Mouse and keyboard skills
Basic terminology	The Windows enviroment

Using Email
Set up an email account	Send, retrieve and reply to emails
Use email address book	Send and save attachements

Using Internet
Types of web browsers	Browse and find information on the web
Save favourite web pages	Print from web

Word Processing
Opening and saving documents	Insert and edit text in a document
Moving and copying data	Use formatting tools
Check spelling and grammar	Print documents
