Dreamweaver 8 is the industry standard webpage design and development software. This course is aimed to give you a hands-on introduction to producing websites using Dreamweaver 8.

Suitable for:
Complete beginners to Web design.

Prerequisites:

  1. Good keyboard and mouse skills with a working knowledge of the Windows environment.
  2. Have experience browsing the Web using Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
  3. Have little or no experience using Dreamweaver and wish to understand the essential skills and how to apply them to creating websites
  4. Previous knowledge of HTML is not essential or assumed

  • Understanding the internet and what makes a good website?
  • Planning the structure of a site
  • Overview of HTML and its basic tags using notepad
  • The Dreamweaver interface and common pallets
  • Defining a site in Dreamweaver and file management
  • Adding and formatting content (text, images and flash) on a webpage
  • Page layout
  • Creating hyperlinks to other pages, sites, emails and other positions on the same page using both text and images
  • An overview of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) both internal and external
  • An introduction to Dreamweaver’s JavaScript behaviours
  • Working with forms
  • Uploading/transferring your files to a web server
