Graphic designers produce mainly 2D (two-dimensional) designs for a variety of purposes. This course is perfect for anyone who would like the skills to develop advertising, logos, posters, signs, labels, television graphics, websites, book covers and magazines.

The qualification consists of four mandatory units:

  • Explore graphic processes, materials and techniques
  • Explore sources of ideas in a graphic design context
  • Explore and develop ideas
  • Produce and present final graphic solution

Prerequisites:

  • Good keyboard and mouse skills with a working knowledge of the Windows environment.
  • No previous Graphic design experience is assumed.
  • Candidates should be aware that they should not register with NCFE or any other awarding body for a qualification at the same level with the same, or a similar, title as this could lead to duplication.

  • Produce the final work demonstrating effective use of technical skills
